Dr Abby Bloom is a highly experienced non-executive board director, chair, audit and risk specialist and leader in governance and innovation. Dr Bloom currently chairs the medical deeptech company DatChem and the Centre for Sovereign Manufacturing of Composite Materials. She is a member of the board of ResusRight, The Sydney Childrens’ Hospital Network and The State Insurance Regulatory Agency. She is an independent Audit and Risk Committee member for several organisations. She is also a director of the not-for-profit organisations Luminesce Alliance and Ballet Without Borders. Dr Bloom serves on the Advisory Board of Global Data Exchange.
An adviser, founder and investor in numerous Australian medical and tech startups over the past 25 years, Dr Bloom’s areas of expertise cover much of healthcare and biomedical translation, including commercialisation as well as insurance, deeptech, water and sewage and advanced manufacture. She holds a BA and MPH from Yale University and a PhD in Medicine (Public Health) from the University of Sydney.
