The NSW Health Commercialisation Training Program (CTP) is open to researchers, scientists, clinicians, entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs and those in the health sector who are working on a novel medical device, diagnostic or therapeutic product, or a software that is considered a medical device.

The programs are delivered by Cicada Innovations, Australia’s leading deep tech incubator with a twenty year track record of developing ventures focused on the world’s most pressing problems and promising opportunities.

NSW Health is providing a free training program for researchers looking to commercialise their idea or invention.

Specialisation courses are available for:

• Medical Devices – 11-13 March 2025
• Software as a Medical Device – 1-3 April 2025
• Pharmaceuticals & Therapeutics – 29 April – 1 May 2025
• Diagnostics – 20-22 May 2025

 UNSW Founders Health Pre-Accelerator Program – applications close 17 February

Applications are invited from health and medical researchers for the UNSW Founders Health Pre-Accelerator Program, a 4-week crash course  (one day per week, maximum four hours per day) to upskill on commercialisation. Key take-outs include learning how to define your business model, product development and investment strategy.

• Eligibility criteria – the Pre-Accelerator Program is open to participants nationally and does not require UNSW affiliation
• It is recommended for early-stage startups level up their ideas and products and to help prepare for the 10X Accelerator Program (details further below).

 UNSW Founders EOI: 10x Accelerator Funding– open 1 April – 19 May

‘10x Accelerator’ is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for $100k + of founder friendly investment for technology and research ventures.

The funding includes commercialisation training, networking and support.
