Ms Kris Pierce serves as Strategic Lead, Consumer & Community Engagement – Rare Diseases at UNSW Sydney.
A respected leader in consumer advocacy and engagement, Kris previously directed Consumer Involvement at ChildUnlimited, where she developed frameworks and led patient-centred initiatives as part of a strategic partnership with Luminesce Alliance; and in 2026 was appointed to the Medical Services Advisory Committee – Evaluation Sub-Committee.
She co-founded and leads SCN2A Australia and has contributed to global organisations including the International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE), Global Genes, and The Epilepsy Foundation. Her impact has been recognised through induction into the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll and a nomination for the Children’s Healthcare Australasia Medal of Distinction.
Kris is also a member of the Luminesce Alliance 2026 Conference Scientific Committee, continuing her mission to embed consumer voices in healthcare decision-making.
