The keynote address will be by internationally renowned genetic medicine expert Dr Mimi Lee, MD, Program Manager of Health Science Futures at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) in the United States .

About the Kids Advanced Therapeutics program
The Kids Advanced Therapeutics (KAT) program is a national leader supporting the research, clinical implementation, education and training, for new advanced therapies for sick children. Some advanced therapies include gene therapy, somatic cell therapy, tissue engineered product, phage therapy and RNA therapies.
These therapies are advancing treatment options for sick children with complex and rare diseases, potentially improving health outcomes and quality of life for them and their families.

About Kids Research
Kids Research is a part of The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network located at both The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. Since 2009, they have led translational research in paediatrics to inform clinical practice and improve health outcomes for children and young people.
