Kids Research leading bench to bedside research
Kids Research, the research arm of The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN), recently published their 2025 Impact Report.
The report demonstrates their leadership of translational bench to bedside research to better the lives of sick children and young people.
Several Luminesce Alliance supported projects are featured within the report including:
- Establishing Australia’s National Paediatric Trial Network’ – Luminesce Alliance supports the KAT program to build SCHN capacity and capability
- ‘Launching Australia’s first commercial-scale viral vector manufacturing facility’ – Luminesce Alliance provided the initial funding that led to the launch
- ‘Reducing social hardship in children with cerebral palsy‘ – this EPIC-CP initiative is aligned with services provided by the Luminesce Alliance Psychosocial Platform
- Leading the world in gene therapy research for spinal muscular atrophy – Luminesce Alliance funded the SPR1NT trial, which led to Zolgensma® being listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS.
