Beyond the Data: Researching With, Not On — Enhancing Cultural Capability of Researchers
This one-hour lunchtime workshop, delivered by Allen Stanley of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) Aboriginal Health Directorate, will provide an opportunity for researchers to reflect on the history and impact of research involving Aboriginal communities, and consider how we can build research relationships based on listening, respect, trust and Aboriginal leadership. Participants will learn how to move beyond consultation towards genuine partnership, ensuring Aboriginal voices and lived experience help shape decisions from the outset and contribute to more effective, culturally responsive and community-centered outcomes.
