Harnessing AI and Big Data to transform childhood cancer care
News Stories
Research Australia recently published two Luminesce Alliance -supported Children’s Cancer Institute projects that showcase how technology and data are transforming health and medical research to improve patient care and drive precision medicine forward.
The projects describe the development of methods to extract structured, high-quality information from clinical reports using a Large Language Model (LLM) AI program incorporating clinician-validation (p20); and data management developed to analyse and store the >2 petabytes of sensitive data for the Zero Childhood Cancer Program (p78).
Congratulations to the authors A/Prof Mark Cowley, Dr Wenhan Chen, James Bradley and the CCI Computational Biology Team for these significant data innovations.
